The healthcare landscape in Cuba is characterized by a strong commitment to primary care, yet it faces significant challenges regarding the aging of hospital furniture. High humidity and saline air from the surrounding coastlines accelerate the corrosion of traditional metal frames, necessitating specialized anti-corrosive coatings.
Currently, there is a critical transition towards automating patient care. The demand for an electric bed for patients has risen as the population ages, reducing the physical strain on nursing staff who manage high patient-to-nurse ratios in provincial clinics.
Logistical constraints often require equipment that is versatile and easy to store. This has made the folding medical bed an essential tool for mobile health units and emergency response teams operating in remote rural regions of the island.
